A bad day in the poker room is better than a good day at work? Maybe

A good day at the poker room is better than a bad day at work? DEFINATELY!

Where does this all fit in?

Well, last week I was at the end of a "temp-to-perm" assignment I was kind of tired of. I mean it was a day after the last day and they did not say they would hire me or not. No one to ask at the office, either. So Without boring you with the details anymore, I leave a note and leave.

Go fill out a job application. They would not take a resume and barely talked to you so I am not in the best spirits there. Then an old college buddy says meet him at the poker room. I'm not in the mood and with reduced income not exactly in a psotion to, but decide why not. 90 minutes later (I live far away) I am making my first reservation for a cash table though I've been in several tournaments.

Mostly fold for almost an hour. Then I get Ac2c in decent position. 2 clubs come on the flop and I get the odds to stay in it. Club on the turn! One player stays in. He bets like $25 and I figure why not raise since it is impossible to lose when you have the nuts! He flods and says, "flush?" I say, "nut flush!" Take down a pot, toke the dealer, get myself in a better mood.

I took down 2-3 more pots and ended up $62 ahead, not bad considering I sat with just $100 and toked a few bucks to the dealer and waitress. My buddy did even better, he won about $100.

But then GET THIS PART: I get to my car and have phone messages. THEY WANTED TO HIRE ME! Come in monday they say! How long I will stay who knows but everyday above gorund is good day, right?!

Nice. And just when you need it. Cool

Glad you got it. Hope it's more permanent. At least until you start earning some serious greens at the Casino Wink
