Hi everyone
I'm not much of a gambler, but I'd like to improve my game for those rare occasions when I do gamble. From reading this forum it looks like I'd better brush up on the basics before I start participating! Does anyone have suggestions for sites I should read?

Well, it all depends on what games you like to play? Different sites focus on different games. For the most popular games like blackjack, roulette, poker, bingo, keno, rummy and some other less popular games there are already some articles (posts) here. Here are some: Blackjack: http://www.dicetalk.com/showthread.php?tid=43 Roulette: http://www.dicetalk.com/showthread.php?tid=18 Poker: http://www.dicetalk.com/showthread.php?tid=17 I suggest games where you can beat the house and other players (which require some skill) like Poker and Blackjack. ![]() If you have questions on any of the games just ask and we will answer it! Also, if you have some nice Casino or Poker stories feel free to share it with us.

From reading this forum it looks like I'd better brush up on the basics before I start participating! Does anyone have suggestions for sites I should read? Yes, three come to mind. If more do then I will add them. http://www.bodog.com This is a gambling website but it has a "practice" mode without a download required. You can play the games and make the bets and see what happens when you mkake different bets. It won't teach you the advanced stuff but you can see amd feel the "flow." http://www.wizardofodds.com. This is a little beyond "basic" This gets into the math of the games. But he has a section caller "Ask The Wizard" where lots of questions get asked. It is an all-day read as it is archived for 8+ years. Some of the questions you may not care about or be above what you care, like some of the probability stuff. He also has lots of "Is my boyfriend cheating on me" questions that have zero to do with gambling but are a fun read. http://www.frank777.com Website of the late Frank Rosenthal. He was the inspiration for "Casino" and Dinero played him. A few sections on how the games work. Lots of other fun stuff to read. No idea how long it will bea round since he died last year. |

RE: Hi everyone
Thank you both. I'm mostly interested in blackjack and poker but don't often have the opportunity to play either. I've been to only one casino, so no wild casino stories (yet) but you never know what the future will hold... especially if I learn more about the games
